Curve DAO, similar to Uniswap, is an Automated Market Maker (AMM) based Decentralized Exchange (DEX). However, Curve Finance focuses on swapping between assets that are supposed to have the same value, making it useful in the DeFi ecosystem where wrapped and synthetic tokens mimic the price of underlying assets.
Curve Finance offers various pools, such as the stablecoin pool 3CRV, which consists of DAI, USDT, and USDC. The ratio of tokens in the pool is determined by supply and demand. Users depositing tokens with a lesser ratio can earn a higher percentage of the pool, providing arbitrage opportunities.
Curve Finance also supports yield-bearing tokens and has collaborated with Yearn Finance to release yUSD pools. These pools include yield-bearing tokens like yDAI, yUSDT, yUSDC, and yTUSD. Liquidity providers in these pools earn yield from underlying tokens and swap fees generated by the Curve pool, as well as yield farming rewards in CRV tokens.
